Who We Are

East Bay Test Strips is a sole-proprietorship operated by Kyle, located in Oakland, California. We buy unused, unexpired diabetic supplies directly from individuals in Alameda County.

Information We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to quote prices and complete a transaction. This may include:

• Contact information, your name, phone number, and/or email address when you text, email, or submit a contact form.
• Supply details, photos, brand names, quantities, and expiration dates of the diabetic supplies you're selling.
• Transaction records, a basic record that a transaction occurred (date, product type, amount paid) kept for business accounting.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, government ID, insurance information, medical history, or payment account credentials (Cash App handles/Zelle numbers are used only to transfer payment and are not stored).

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

• Provide a price quote for your supplies
• Coordinate and complete a local meetup and payment
• Respond to follow-up questions about your transaction
• Maintain basic business accounting records as required by law

We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to fulfilling your transaction request.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes, ever.

We may share information only in limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Text messaging is handled via your carrier. Payment apps (Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal) process transfers under their own privacy policies. Contact form submissions are delivered via a webhook notification to a private Discord server accessible only to the business owner.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the business, our customers, or others.

Data Retention

Text and email conversation history is retained only as long as needed to resolve any questions related to a transaction, typically 30–90 days. Basic transaction records (date, product, amount paid) may be retained for up to 7 years for accounting purposes. Supply photos provided during quoting are not retained after the transaction is completed.

Cookies and Website Analytics

This website does not use first-party cookies, tracking pixels, or behavioral advertising. The site may be served through Vercel's edge CDN, which may log standard server access data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) in accordance with Vercel's privacy policy. We do not currently use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics service.

Medicare & Medicaid Policy

East Bay Test Strips does not knowingly purchase diabetic supplies that were funded by Medicare, Medicaid, or any federal or state healthcare assistance program. By initiating a sale, you attest that the supplies you are selling were not obtained through Medicare, Medicaid, or any government-funded program. We reserve the right to decline any transaction where there is reason to believe this attestation is inaccurate.

Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) gives you the following rights regarding your personal information:

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately for deletion.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will be noted here for at least 30 days after they take effect. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
